The A x B x C, made by the German Produx company, at first appears to be an ordinary Odhner-type pinwheel calculator. However it can only can be used to perform "positive" operations such as addition and multiplication. In case one wishes to subtract and divide this has to be accomplished through addition of complement numbers.
Instead of a pin-wheel, the A x B x C is equipped with a movable gear segment. As its name implies, the A x B x C is equipped with a back transfer device to simplify continuous multiplication (a x b x c...).
There also was a more sophisticated variety of the A x B x C called the Multator, making possible direct subtraction and division.
Tyska A x B x C, tillverkad av firma Produx, ser vid första påseendet ut som en vanlig räknesnurra av Odhnertyp. Den kan emellertid enbart användas för "positiva" räknemetoder (addition, multiplikation). Eventuell subtraktion och division måste utföras genom addition av komplementtal.
I stället för räknesnurrans vanliga pinnhjul har A x B x C ett förskjutbart kuggsegment. Som namnet antyder har den en extra finess: återföringsanordningen som möjliggör fortsatt multiplikation (a x b x c...).
Det fanns också en dyrare variant av A x B x C som hette Multator. På den sistnämnda var det möjligt att utföra direkt subtraktion och division.
